Body In Motion

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
1 Corinthians 12:27

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been traveling a lot and my body has been moving almost nonstop. Two weeks ago, my wife, Becky, and I went to Houston for a rigorous four-day long church planting assessment. Afterward, we spent some downtime with close friends in Austin for a few days with our daughter Emily. Then Becky and Emily came back home and I went straight to Kansas City to kick-off a nine-month church planting apprenticeship program. Now that I’m back home and reflecting on this intensive time I’ve had, I realized that if the church is the body, it should also stay in motion to remain healthy. One of the greatest illustrations of the church in the Bible is that the church is a body and we are all various parts of the body. But what’s also important is that the church keeps moving… moving out, moving around, and moving towards. Moving out of our comfort zones, moving around to know what’s happening around us, and moving toward those in need.
